Mid-rise Tower - Persistent Roof Leakage

Challenge: A mid-rise condominium building had a persistent roof leak since the building was completed seven years earlier. The bedroom and bath ceiling areas of one upper floor unit had been torn out and replaced each time the contractor believed they had located and repaired the leak. The homeowner was frustrated and was once again dealing with sheetrock being removed.

Solution: The management company called in Roofchek to perform controlled water testing and to locate the exact source of the leak. Systematic and controlled testing was performed in and around the location of the leak. The leak turned out to be, not the roof, but an improperly installed wall system on a mechanical penthouse. As a result the association was able to have the leak repaired and the unit owner got their ceiling repaired one last time.
